Location and Region
Nestled amid idyllic mountain scenery on the north-eastern edge of the Gurktal Alps, is the market town of St. Lambrecht. The hilly countryside with its numerous forests and meadows gives the entire region and the town a charm all its own. Since time immemorial, this community has been shaped by the local Benedictine abbey, whose contributions to the region have mainly been in its cultural development.
St. Lambrecht excites visitors with its colourful variety of outdoor sports, along with a full array of cultural highlights. Conferences, seminars and courses are offered locally, especially through the abbey, also representing a powerful magnet for visitors.
