Enjoy Vienna from above

This marked walk will take you from the centre of Ottakring and over the Wilhelminenberg in the direction of the Vienna Woods. Schloss Wilhelminenberg with its fantastic view over Vienna is a perfect place to stop for refreshment.

When the weather is good, the observation tower in Ottakring is definitely a must for visitors to Vienna. On clear days, the view extends over large parts of the Vienna Basin and to the Kalkalpen mountains, including the Schneeberg. If you are afraid of heights, you should think twice about the visit: the observation deck is located at a height of 31 metres - but the view over Vienna is truly breathtaking.

You can either walk up the Kahlenberg (the city walk 1 starts from the terminus of the tram in Nussdorf) or drive up the famous Höhenstrasse comfortably by public bus. And anyone who walks at least one direction truly deserves the reward at the end:  great views and real Viennese vineyards – you will not find that in any other metropolis in the world.
