The best restaurants with good Tyrolean traditional fare in Innsbruck

The “best of” Austrian cuisine in Tyrol

Innsbruck

  1. 1

    Die Wilderin

You won’t find paprika in the pot at the Wilderin in winter. Mangos don’t end up in the dessert either. Instead there is wild boar goulash in autumn and whitefish directly from the alpine lake – the cooks use the animals as a whole. Creative, down-to-earth cuisine – a culinary insider tip in the old heart of Innsbruck!

    Buzihütte

The Buzihütte is quaint, quirky and lies in the middle of the forest. Nevertheless the people of Innsbruck come here regularly to the outskirts of the city. Especially to the terrace in summer. And for the “Knödel-Tris” (three different kinds of dumpling) or to the “Eiterbeule” (a specially stuffed schnitzel) made according to a secret recipe. You have to find out for yourself what that is exactly. One thing is clear: it tastes great!

    Restaurant 1809

In Innsbruck's Wilten district, just a few meters from the Bergisel ski jump and right next to the TIROL PANORAMA, you'll find the modern Restaurant 1809. Between internation cuisine and Austrian specialties such as Kaspressknödl, Tyrolean Gröst'l or Kaiserschmarrn you can enjoy a beautiful view.
