In a one-person play, which is both impressive and emotional, the Austrian actress Maxi Blaha embodies the strong personality of the haute couture designer, beloved by aristocrats, but only known to many as Klimt's muse and lover. Today Emilie Flöge would be, in my opinion, equivalent to Coco Chanel in Paris. Like her French counterpart, she liberated the ladies from the tight corset and designed flowing and floor-length dresses. In the course of the play you receive a surprising insight into Klimt's life, not just his work. Emilie Flöge was also responsible for his estate.

Eye to eye with Gustav Klimt! Thanks to a special bridge construction, the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna brings the famous Klimt murals in the impressive staircase closer to the eye. You can see unique paintings, embedded in the pillar and arcade architecture of the stairwell, were commissioned by Emperor Franz Joseph I. Even then with surprisingly much gold. I've been there twice myself and could not stop taking pictures - really impressive! My tip for afterwards: coffee and cake under the dome of the museum.
