Sightseeing

Take a stroll through the UNESCO world heritage site, starting at Salzburg cathedral, on to Schloss Mirabell and finishing up at Mozart’s birthplace in Getreidegasse. The climb up to Hohensalzburg Castle is well worth the effort for the magnificent views of the city below. For an authentic and refreshing insight into the city of Mozart, head for Schrannenmarkt, where regional produce and delicacies go on sale once-a-week.

Visitors looking for a more physically active break can take advantage of the many cycling and jogging routes. Follow the Forellenweg, via Herrenau-Rott back to the Forellenweg.

Route B - Easy jogging

4.8 km (approx. 33 min)
Nature lovers walk to the pond: Forellenweg – Lake – Brachsenweg – Fischergasse


Along Forellenweg to Herrenau-Rott, cross country over the Glanbach to Schmiedlingerstraße. Straight past the lake, to Brachsenweg, over  Fischergasse to Anglerweg, back to Fischergasse, to the main road Münchner Bundesstraße, then back to the hotel.

Route C - Training for nature lovers

7 km (approx. 48 min)
Longer route around the Salzach Lakes: Forellenweg – Herrenau-Rott – Salzach – Salzach Lakes – Schmiedlingerstraße – Fischergasse


Along Forellenweg, to Herrenau-Rott, cross country over the Glanbach to the Schmiedlingerstraße on to the Salzach. To Theodostraße, past the forest (parallel to the Salzach), around the Salzach Lakes, back to Schmiedlingerstraße and to Fischergasse. Along to the main road, continue to the hotel.
