I have stayed in countless hotels around the world, and I’ve also stayed at several hotels in Vienna. However, the reception service at this hotel was terrible. A receptionist named MARIKA was horrible and extremely rude. On the same day, my key card stopped working twice. In the morning, a male staff member gave me a new key card. Then, around 8 PM, when I returned from the city, the key card stopped working again. I went back to the reception desk, and the employee named MARIKA immediately spoke to me in an irritated tone, asking, “Did you keep the key next to your phone?” as if it was entirely my fault. I was honestly shocked by her attitude, tone, and way of speaking. If guests should avoid placing the key card near a phone because of magnetic issues, then the hotel staff should explain that in advance. When I visited reception earlier that morning, the male staff member never mentioned anything about it. Instead, this employee acted annoyed at me and blamed me for something nobody had explained beforehand. I even asked her if she could be a little friendlier and nicer, but instead of apologizing, she insisted that she had done nothing wrong. I was genuinely speechless. This was by far the rudest hotel service experience I have had in Vienna, and it says a lot about the standard of this hotel

Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend it, even though the staff at the front desk were friendly and it's close to the zoo. It feels like the property is in need of renovation.

Had already checked in, when received an e-mail and prompt about possible upgrades. Felt rather strange to have received this e-mail so late as I would have more than glad to have done the upgrade.

We very much loved our stay as the hotel is very atmospherical and most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is sad that some staff were not friendly. The room and Schlosscafé was way too hot. The air conditioning did not work in the room, we had to open the windows all the time. But besides that we absolutely enjoyed our stay in this beautiful hotel!!

Beautiful hotel, with amazing rooms and location. It's no wonder it is so popular, and very much worth staying in. Great staff, who are friendly, helpful and polite. A wonderful experience.

Only issue we had was with a sewer smell in the bathroom that got progressively worse during our 3 days

I like the hotel. The room was fabulous. Staff were a bit curt sometimes. We will stay there again for the rooms.

We chose this hotel based on a previous stay but were very disappointed. No toiletries, lacklustre service and some rude staff means that we would not stay here again. Such a shame because it is in a good location.
