The world of theatre and music in Linz

Culture on the Danube is no longer just restricted to Vienna: Linz has also established itself as a theatre city, not least through the new construction of the ultra-modern music theatre, which has finally provided the theatre with more space again. In the truest sense of the word.

Opera, operetta, musicals and concerts have now found a new home at the Volksgarten, while the theatre stages offer space and time for much-acclaimed productions - the coveted Nestroy Theatre Prize has also been awarded increasingly often in the federal states outside of the capital.

Although there are several theatres in Linz, they are all German-speaking. The information about the theatres is therefore provided in German only. You may however be interested in visiting a concert, for example in the impressive Brucknerhaus. Please see below for further details!

With its new Musiktheater, Linz now has one of the most modern opera houses in Europe, where the programme has also been enhanced by the performance of musicals. Now there is plenty of room: for operas, operettas, concerts and the Bruckner Orchestra.
