That Vienna is a truly cosmopolitan city is also reflected in its cuisine

Traditional Japanese or experimental international cuisine - there is that and much more to choose from.

  1. 1

    Sakai

In the Sakai in the Josefstadt there is the "Taste of Japan". It goes far beyond sushi and sashimi. Because the chef wants to introduce his guests to much more. These include traditional pastry dishes. The focus is particularly on the sake - Japanese rice wine - many different varieties of which can be enjoyed here.

  2. 2

    Mraz und Sohn

The father stands in the kitchen and creates excellent 4-, 6- or 9-course menus and the son serves at the tables - a great team. The focus lie on the essentials - enjoying and relaxing. That is why there is no menu. You can choose between the different menus which saves the stress of choosing.

  3. 3

    Kussmaul

The Kussmaul is a bistro, patisserie and restaurant in one. So it is no wonder that is has 2 Gault&Millau points. Sample the changing lunchtime menu in the bistro, in the evening one of the unusual cocktails at the bar or "timeless" or "contemporary" food in the restaurant.

  4. 4

    Shiki

Not only well-known dishes such as sushi and maki are available at the noble Japanese restaurant not far from the Kärnter Straße - much more than that, because this is a culinary experience. Guests are offered the best of both worlds - Japan and Vienna. In the fine-dining area of the restaurant, you can watch the chefs preparing the food - a veritable art, as you can see here.
