The Amerlingbeisl is located in the middle of the 7th district. It is perhaps a little bit inconspicuous but definitely worth visiting. Because the "Schanigarten" and the large selection of good food at moderate prices are both reasons to stay longer!
One of the most authentic cafes this city has to offer. I would like to spend hours lingering over an original iced coffee under the soft pink canopy and watching the city pass by. This "Schanigarten" is a real treasure (so you are even preapred to forgive the waiters if they are not very welcoming).
A Heuriger or wine tavern right in the centre of Vienna and with a wonderful "Schanigarten" too - in this city there is nothing that does not exist! If you are in the mood for real Viennese spirit, then this is the place for you. The wine bar is only open in the warm months!
Formally, this is not a classic "Schanigarten". But this is not something you are going to argue about when you see it. The Glacis Beisl has probably the most beautiful (and most hidden) restaurant garden in Vienna. And this is no longer a secret, so it's best to book in advance (especially in the evening)!
Stick your feet in the sand in the centre of the city and drink a margarita while doing so? Yes, that is possible, with good food and great music into the bargain.
After a visit to the Albertina , a further highlight of any visit to Vienna is a walk along the Ring, past the Burgtheater to Schottentor. But where can you go to eat?
