The Beach Volleyball A1 Major Vienna presented by Swatch came back to the Danube Island.

So did the Austria Trend Hotels.

Between July 31st and August 4th 2019 all eyes were on the Danube Island as the world’s best beach volleyball teams were playing to reach a place on the victory podium in Austria’s capital city. 

After the great success of the previsous Beach Volleyball A1 Major Vienna presented by Swatch in 2018 Vienna welcomed the Beach Volleyball Elite for goosebump moments, DJ sounds and more. The Austria Trend Hotels were the exclusive hotel partner of the Vienna Major.

The Top-5 rules in Beach Volleyball

The rules of the trendy team sport are quite similiar to the rules of classic volleyball.  

  • There are 2 players in each team
  • One set is finished after 21 points
  • For a match win it needs two won sets
  • The center court consists of two parts, each 8x8 meters large
  • The hight of the net is 2.24 meters (women) and 2.43 meters (men)
