Surroundings & Activities

During a stay at the Radisson Blu Park Royal Palace Hotel, Vienna, Schönbrunn palace and its beautiful grounds are very near – in the true sense of the word – as it’s just five minutes away.
Gloriette Schönbrunn | Vienna

The famous sights there include the Neptunbrunnen fountain, the Crown Prince Garden and the Gloriette, which are all right on your doorstep. Why not explore the latter, built as an imperial folly-cum-garden house, over coffee and cake. Its cafe is undoubtedly one of Austria’s grandest. The Imperial majesty of the building and its surroundings, and the wonderful views of the palace below are not to be missed.

Even closer than Schönbrunn is the Technisches Museum Wien, which is located right next door. The architecturally impressive building has been a museum of science and technology for about 100 years, with exhibits exploring themes from an Austrian perspective. Its enormous halls are lit by natural light which floods in through giant glass domes. The items on display include turbines, planes, steam engines, relics from the golden age of industry, robots and examples of space-age technology.
