    Augarten Porcelain Manufactory

The Viennese Augarten Porcelain Manufactory was founded in 1718 and celebrated its anniversary with a beautiful display of the highlights of Viennese porcelain in more than 200 shops. I personally recommend that you pay a visit to the manufactory as well as to the exhibitions which take place regularly, because it is worth taking a look over the shoulders of this rare Viennese craft!

    Bentwood and Beyond

The name Thonet is inextricably linked to the Viennese coffee house tradition, because the coffee house chair No. 14 became the most famous piece of Viennese design furniture of all time. Bending solid wood with steam revolutionised furniture production. From mid-December 2019, the MAK will be showing a comprehensive exhibition of modern furniture and placing the characteristic Thonet bentwood furniture in the context of contemporary, aesthetic and historical developments.

    Backhausen

Backhausen has been producing high-quality fabrics for interior design for 170 years. Already last year there was a first fashion cooperation with Vienna's designer Arthur Arbesser to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Viennese Modernism. Further design collaborations are to follow in 2019, as well as the company’s own exhibition at the end of 2019. We are full of anticipation!
