In Ephesus, one of the most magnificent cities of the ancient world, Cleopatra's sister Arsinoë was murdered and buried. Almost 100 years ago, Austrian archaeologists discovered an octagonal tomb containing a skeleton whose identity remains unknown to this day.
This find forms the starting point for an exhibition at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in the Neue Hofburg on the political upheavals of Cleopatra's time and the ‘global players’ of that era: Cleopatra, Caesar, Mark Antony and Augustus.
