Vienna under the Rainbow

In June Vienna will be in EuroPride fever! Once a year the LGBTIQ Pride event takes place in a European capital - 2019 in Vienna. Under the motto "together and proud", from 1 to 16 June the city will show just how cosmopolitan it is. This year there is a special background to the event, because 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of Stonewall. The modern LGBTIQ movement started with the uprisings of homosexuals and transsexuals in New York in 1969. All the more reason for lesbians, gays, bisexuals, heterosexuals, trans-, cis-, inter- and queer people to set an example for tolerance and against exclusion in Vienna this year. The highlight of the two EuroPride weeks will be the Rainbow Parade on 15 June on the Ringstrasse. But even before that you'll experience a colourful Vienna that shows itself from its best side with lots of great events. Here you can find out what's going on in Vienna during the Pride month!

On 8 June, halfway through the EuroPride, the Vienna City Hall will be transformed for the last time into the crazy stage of the Life Ball. "United in Diversity" is the motto of this year's HIV/AIDS charity event. Shortly afterwards the PrideVillage and the PridePark will open their doors for you!

Pride programme for everybody

When the rainbow flags flutter all over the city, Vienna has a lot to offer for families: the open-air swimming pool in Schönbrunn, for example, invites you to the EuroPride Pool Day. On the EuroPride Run everybody will jog around the Ring together for a mutual cause. Take a look here at the family-friendly EuroPride events in June.
